I read about one of the cr...Very interesting post. <br />I read about one of the crew...a young, recent maritime institute graduate. This was his first job, as a machinist aboard Vinalines Queen.<br /><br />I imagined his experience...signing on as crew, knowing that his ship was in good order and her crew very competent, excited to begin his first voyage.<br /><br />During the first days, his ship encountered heavy weather but he knew the ship, captain and crew could handle it.<br /><br />When the ship developed a list, perhaps he started to have doubts.<br /><br />As the ship started to roll over, the bulkhead became the deck, then the overhead became the deck.<br />The lights went out as the generators stopped.<br /><br />His ears popped as the pressure increased...then the water started to come in and he knew he was doomed.<br /><br />What a terrible end to a young life...all preventable....<br /><br />Tadfqo63https://www.blogger.com/profile/18138148468802949717noreply@blogger.com
